Photomontage: Produced & manipulated. These works consist of an amalgamation of my own photographs, carefully build up photo layer by photo layer into a unique universe. Photography that goes further than photography only. When there are models involved it all starts with a photoshoot in the studio. All works are limited Edition Art prints 1/3 + 1, signed & numbered Certificate of Authenticity at the back of the work. I work with top printing houses in Amsterdam and Noordwijk, Netherlands that have extensive experience dealing with art galleries to make sure the art prints are of the highest gallery/museum quality. The artwork / photo is sold completely framed, but not on the traditional way. The photo is printed on Fujicolor Crystal Archive Type DPII / 220 grams, fine art paper which delivers the most accurate and vibrant colours in print as you see onscreen. It then is glued between a plate acrylic glass and a dibond plate. The acrylic glass that is used creates the typical tight look of the photo, while the dibond plate ensures the strength and is resistant material formation. The plexiglass plate which for the photo is used is standard 3 mm thick and features a special UV coating. This makes the photo protected from fading and the colors remain decades lifelike! The photos are available at different sizes: Original size 120 x 120 x 2 Square size: 80x80 - 100x100 -120x120

Niko van der Klugt (Amsterdam) Visual artist. He has worked as an independent lighting designer since 1989 and worked on theater and modern dance productions – either in theatre’s or on location, both national and international assignments -, events, museums, exhibitions and architectural projects. As he was fascinated by light over the years, he found new ways (2011) to express himself in a different art form; converting spatial light into photographic images. He focuses within his photography on the making of 'Digital Paintings'. This can be abstract, figurative, portraits or graphic. These works consist of an amalgamation of his own photographs, carefully build up layer by layer into a unique universe. Photography that goes further than photography only. Digital Imaging. I work as a painter. What I don't need is a studio with diffuse Northern light, no tubes of paint. The computer is my canvas, the mouse my brush. I paint as a painter, with the required software as a binding agent. My work is technically derived from two different media; the camera and computer. I use my photography as basic for all my final images and use the computer as an artistic tool. This gives me the opportunity to make optimal use of the digital techniques; but still create an emotional expression. So the initial creation of an photo is not the end; it is the start of a series of manipulations, layer by layer, picture by picture. The last, final image is far removed from the first file, but holds a hidden truth within it,which should be examined / experienced by the viewer /spectator.
