Abstract and Imaginatively Representational artworks that celebrate life's diversity. The focus is upon lyrical and dramatic moments of interaction between our inner and outer worlds -- the crossroads of reality and imagination, where beauty is seen in many unusual forms. As an artist, I revel in the sensually dynamic qualities of paint and colour and wish for my work to connect with others in ways that enliven the senses, experience, and imagination. I write an illustrated art-and-travel column, Creative Life News, at janetstrayerart.com Born in Europe, I grew up in New York City, moved to Canada, and became a full professor and published researcher in psychology. Always also an avid art and art history student, I received my "credentials" as a fine-art painter in 2010 with my first solo exhibition.
