About The Artwork

The day after I finished this painting, I sold it. I should have waited, I would never have sold it. Monika McCoy (my new multi-piece collector),in California loved it with such enthusiasm,I was helpless but to let her own , INTER-DIMENSIONAL FREAK OUT. I hope you enjoy this painting so much you collect a print of it. SHADDSTONE catalog #80 it is 30" X 20" made of the new media of self formulated colorization of industrial silicone. I believe I'm the first and only one working in this media.Over the last six years I have developed many new techniques in creating with silicone. Three new techniques were created while painting C80. On all my paintings I sign with my monogram C.J.S. with an authenticating finger print ,on what I think is the lower left corner. Abstractly Yours, SHADDSTONE

I am not an artist, because I make art, I create ART because I am an ARTIST! I have been a realized artist since 1966, and stone sculptor from 1971, and in 2011 I discovered painting in self-formulated colorization of industrial silicone. I have always created my art from a joyful inner-most creative flow. My mission with my art is to help create a better more peaceful world. I received grants and sold many pieces. I have worked in many medias, whatever I could get my hands on, could become art. While working in his R&D lab, while I was working with silicone. One project needed 4 parts to be of different colors. I accidentally dripped some drops of silicone. I felt Jackson Pollock over my shoulder saying “Look at that”," yes", I said." that's art",and so an art form was born in me. With a big step to the side and several years of experiments, many techniques were and are being discovered . I present to you... Intentional Randomness My first large silicone rendering “painting”, called “ADVENTURE IN THOUGHT” is 51”X28” I worked on it for 5-6 months. I brought it home and laid it on the dining room table to look at it. And kept looking and looking and finally hours later I tore myself away to go to bed. I thought to myself I really have something ! Well others liked it too! So I kept creating more silicone paintings. My first sale was to Julie Adams (from the “Creature from the Black Lagoon” fame.) WOW! I sold one. Al Hovey, scientist, teacher and photographer was documenting my “paintings” when he said “Chris you need to see this.” He had zoomed into the microcosm of “Adventure in Thought” a square ½ inch of this “painting” was its own perfect abstract composition. Prints of the microcosm were quickly made. I recommend viewing my paintings from far away, close up, and with a magnifying glass, in all levels of light. My paintings are rare,as I only make so many a year, and I believe I'm the only one currently working in this media to make paintings. My Observations I observed viewers of my work. They start creating, creating what they see and some start having all kinds of creative ideas. I was looking at “Blue Instigation” and after a while a sense of profound serenity came over me. My “paintings” are capable of stimulating creativity, triggering the prehistoric need to identify what you are seeing, (Pareadolia ).
