Art Description

New Media: Digital, Manipulated, Photo on Paper.

There are many many mythical stories about Ursa Major among the nations of the northern hemisphere.

Also ancient Siberians had their story of Kheglen, who had stolen the Sun and so the winter time and darkness had came onto Earth.

A brave soldier Main Mange (also symbolized as a bear) was hunting Kheglen across the night sky. After he had killed Kheglen, the light came again and at the same time the Spring.

I have presented In my Kheglen series Main Mange as a rock art figure from Swedish rock art carvings - in which the man is riding with the sun and moon.

Minor Ursa (Kheglen's calf) was seen on the night sky after Kheglen had stolen the light).

Digital collage, in which I mix my photos and hand made paintings and drawings. Limited edition consists only 5 high quality art print on Fine Art Hahnemühle Photo Rag cotton based matte photopaper with Ultrachrome pigment inks. The high-density pigments provide rich and long-lasting colors and tonalities. Art prints are hand signed.
