New Media: Watercolor, Digital, New Media on Paper.
When I began writing, I wrote poetry. When I began to create fine art photographic images, I maintained that brevity of expression, often opting for the suggestion of a subject rather than a straightforward depiction.
As I have grown to express myself in other mediums, I find, still, that I am drawn toward the idea of a subject, frequently preferring a metaphorical representation (perhaps it's the poet in me) over a literal translation.
This piece is part memory, part feeling and all play. To create it, I began a game of What If: What if I use this brush or this one? What if I layer these two colors? What if I now subtract color, build it up, then subtract it again?
The result is the coming together of accident and intention where I am both participant and witness.
This piece is printed on Epson Hot Press Bright with a small white border on all sides. It will be signed and numbered on the front and shipped with a certificate of authenticity.
