Peace Offering: May Peace Lead Our Way - Limited Edition 3 of 8 Artwork

Poster design for the #IAMTHEMANY competition on criminal justice reform. I was 1 of 10 artists invited to exhibit at the White House during the Obama Administration for ACT/ART's reception on social justice in support of October's National Youth Justice Awareness Month. Among thousands of entries, the esteemed jury chose 10 works of art as the Official Selection to be displayed in the East Room of the White House as part of the public tour route from October 16th-30th, 2015. The jury was comprised of renowned artist Shepard Fairey, filmmaker Morgan Spurlock, rapper Chuck D (Public Enemy) and 11 other distinguished community leaders of the art, social justice, and design fields. My approach to the design and theme of the campaign was to create a sense of hope instead of focusing on the problem of police violence and profiling. The artists' reception was held in the Indian Treaty Room at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building within the White House Complex on Thursday, October 15th, 2015. Later in November, I received a letter of recognition from 47th Vice President, Joe Biden for my creative contribution to the cause. ________________________________________________ Limited edition prints on velvet finer art archival paper.
