About The Artwork

I love those moments when finding an object at a scrap merchant’s yard and knowing exactly where it belongs…as was the case for this piece. A found broken frame whilst travelling in Mumbai to fit an already created playful image of a Hindu deity…the frame, which would have originally been used for Islamic calligraphy art, repurposed…perfect harmony with a little hidden humour. Within the image gives off a lovely sense of warmth and something eternal, that feeling of everlasting sanctuary that religion can give. But, there’s always a flip side…so for a slightly darker (or playful) view, look what’s blowing out of Krishna’s flute…

I am a multidisciplinary artist currently working out from Brightlingsea, England. My practise is playful and fluid, using free-association methods to explore a variety of themes, broadly engaging with time, history, identities and ethnicity, where the work is often also underpinned by a response to sensory overload. My works have been shown at numerous festivals and at many group exhibitions worldwide. I have also played keys roles at artist-run organisations and on projects to support artist’s livelihoods and well-being, along with educating and promoting arts within communities. I am also part of the collaboration 2CourtFools, a social art project that has created billboard art for public display.
