Igor Dudinsky received his first drawing lessons in his teens from Anatoly Zverev, Alexander Kharitonov, Dmitry Kalinin, Evgeny Rukhin. The main teacher of painting was Boris Kozlov (1937-1999) - a famous unorthodox icon painter. He participated in the preparation of the famous bulldozer exhibition, as well as the first official exhibitions of non-conformist artists. He became one of the founders of the picturesque section at the Moscow City Committee of Graphics (Malaya Gruzinskaya, 28), headed the art criticism section. In 1978, he opened a salon in his apartment for lovers of contemporary art, where unrecognized authors could freely communicate with their viewers. There were weekly exhibitions of leading non-conformists. In the early 90's he began to professionally engage in painting. Igor Dudinsky designated his direction as extraconscious realism. The works of those years echoed European Dadaism. After the first solo exhibitions, he began to collaborate with well-known art dealers who took Dudinsky's works to the commission and actively sold them. As a result, Dudinsky’s paintings were in the collections of all the leading collectors of contemporary art - Talochkin, Nutovich, Alshibaya and others. Many of Dudinsky's works were bought as gifts for leading artists - from Maya Plisetskaya to Vladimir Spivakov. Recently, Igor Dudinsky prefers assembly techniques (he created dozens of objects) and fabric mosaics. Here is what Dudinsky himself says about his work: - I consider myself a representative of contemporary art, as I focus on the eternal foundations of Russian aesthetics. What was present in every residential interior of a Russian family? Firstly, the icons. Secondly, the "naive" rugs that hung over each bed. These rugs were the first meeting with art for millions of Russian people. Thirdly, of course, quilts. Therefore, in my mosaics made of fabric, I combine all three signs of Russian life and, consequently, the Russian attitude. My works symbolize involvement in the sacred principles of Russian national art - its symbolism, style, aesthetics, attitude, imagery, ideology. Thus, I contribute to the formation of the national idea.
