Luís Miguel Fernandes, born in Leiria, Portugal, 1980. Actually living in Portugal, is a modern life nomad, skipping from place to place. He has been living from north to south of Portugal, and recently he lived and worked in Bergen, Norway. He has superior degrees in Painting and Visual Arts at Superior School of Art and Design, Caldas da Rainha and a master in Teaching of Visual Arts at Beira Interior University, Portugal. In addition to his work as a Visual Artist, Fernandes is also a teacher of Visual Arts, he also has professional experiences in other areas, such as Design and Scenography, which gives him a broad aesthetics that enhances his work. The artistic creation of Luís Miguel Fernandes it is done mostly through personal experiences. The draw has quite a biographical character. It develops in several techniques. Fernandes likes to experiment and explore, but he always returns to his roots of Drawing and Painting, whether technically or conceptually. In his work it can be found references from distinct periods in art history, in a reinterpretation of art works and composing his work around the artistic knowledge. Cinema is also an inspiration to the artist, reviewing the directors frames and appropriate them through drawing or painting. The actuality, personalities that influence the world or the artist are also themes of his work. He is constantly exposing his work on the web, through specialized platforms or at his own website.
