Two of my favorite things - Cats & Cocktails - and not in that order! My three black cats are always my models. I drew them each, using a sharpie and colored pencil, with a different sweater and drew a fun martini. I realized that the mid-century/retro feeling was emerging so I collaged and montaged that essence into this piece, down to the colors of that era and the curvy mod feel of the components within the piece. I wanted a piece that says FUN and can be an enhancement to a mid-century or hip environment. The piece comes with a certificate of authenticity, an artist bio and a finished black backing with hanging hooks already in place,

I've been doodling since I was 2 years old. My first grade teacher sent me home with a note that read "John needs to stop doodling and pay attention in class" The words "stop doodling" were underlined so hard that it ripped the paper that this note was on! I have this note framed and hanging in my studio. Southern California artist John A.
