“Surreal to Conceptual Photos, Wafting: Airplane Dawn to Montreal” - Limited Edition of 24 Artwork

I gave my subconscious a camera, and promised not to interfere. I got back to the studio, and my subconscious took over there, too. Analog 35mm full-frame color photographs of sunrise from an airborne plane are distorted and composited into connected wafting shapes on a single white vertical background to feel as if they are twisting in space, dreamlike. The images are printed on a single sheet of luster archival photo paper, but hand-cut by the artist with connecting element and dry-mounted to Strathmore Bristol heavyweight brilliant white paper. The forms therefore play with the viewer’s sense of spacial location in two ways, tricking the eye forward and back through the seemingly undulating background.
