About The Artwork
This Textile Work represents "The Door of no return" which was built in 1992 on the beach of Ouidah (Benin) in memory of millions of human beings who were taken off to the "New World" for becoming slaves. Green, yellow and red are the colours of the flag of Benin. The masks are hand loom weaving. This work has been shown in International Textile Exhibitions.

Born on November 19th. After thirty years dedicated to writing plays,to creating and making clothes, costumes and properties for theater(Leeds, London, Lyon, New York, Miami, Paris), I have been creating quilts since 2006. Naomi Ichikawa wrote an article about my work in the Japanese magazine "Patchwork Quilt Tsushin" in August 2007. Since I have been in more than fourtyTextile exhibitions in Europe and USA. I am interested in human nature and I take my inspiration from universal and timeless human mysteries such as death, solitude, love and vanishing time.
