About The Artwork

The Futility of Peace... Conflict costs us $13.6 trillion a year, yet we spend almost nothing on peace. The US military budget is about 14x that of Russia and 4x that of China. In 2017, the US government voted to increase annual military spending by $50 billion to a record high of $700 billion. Not even during the Cold War was the US military budget anywhere near the current outlay. In order to justify this stupendous largesse with American tax dollars, the Pentagon is compelled, out of logical necessity, to constantly portray the world as a threatening place. Another consequence of the conduct of the military industrial complex over the last 50 years, has been to skew the manufacturing base away from consumer to military goods. In short, if the US were to end all of its 'wars,' tomorow and bring all troops and private contractors stationed across the world back home, the economy would grind to a halt and unemployment would spiral to depression era levels. The US economy is addicted to war, but the reality is that the US needs to kick this habit before it overdoses the world.

Dex Luthor, has been Enjoying & Creating Visionary Art & Electronic Music since the 90's. An avid explorer of consciousness, Dex Luthor uses the medium of art and of music to try and bring back a small piece of the picture and contribute it to the building of a new paradigm in the understanding of our own reality. The late Bill Hicks, probably said it best: ‘Today a young man on acid realized that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration. We are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves,' Bill Hicks (1961–1994). www.DexLuthor.com https://www.instagram.com/dexluthor_london To find out more about the Electronic Music of Dex Luthor visit: https://soundcloud.com/user-car-warming-party
