The MetLife Building printed on brushed aluminium

Art Description

New Media: Digital, Manipulated, Metal, Photo on Aluminium.

I love the lines and repeated patterns in modern architecture. This is one of my favourite examples, the 1960's MetLife Building above Grand Central Terminal in Midtown Manhattan.

The piece is created from an original photograph, digitally coloured by hand and printed on brushed aluminium, which really brings out the patterns and structure of the building. The vivid pink sky and fluorescent yellow of Grand Central Station bottom right adds to this.
