About The Artwork

This is one of his early works in digital art and his second in the "Those Crazy Cats" collection. It was specifically created using no rounded lines -- only straight lines. The painting's whimsical and colorful perspective of life always brings a smile so it quickly expanded into a collection and remains one of his most popular collections. When Michael is not able to work with his favorite medium of oil on canvas, he uses his iPad and pressure-sensitive pencils to paint with digital oils. The results are stunning and often far more tedious than oil on canvas, as was the case with this piece. This limited edition run is printed on canvas, hand-embellished with acrylics and hand-signed, each one being a unique creation as the finishes will vary slightly for each piece. Michael is a world-record-setting aviator having set six endurance-based world records and the honor of being inducted as an aviation legend with EAA. His plane is currently on display in the Wings Over the Rockies Museum in Denver, Colorado. He is also an author, composer and car collector, none of which began until his near-death experience.

Michael is an artist with quite a story to tell, and message to share. You see Michael has died and come back, twice and he didn’t start to paint until that day. The minutes without oxygen left him severe memory loss and a childlike view of the world. He worked tirelessly to retrain his brain and gain his memory and physical strength back. Once he recovered sufficiently, he set a goal to fly into all 50 states and encourage millions to ‘never, ever give up on your dreams.” He succeeded in 2012, reaching 30 million and earning a spot in aviation history. His plane is currently on loan to the prestigious Wings Over the Rockies museum in Denver, Colorado. Today Michael writes books, composes music & symphonies, mediations, and aims to set more world records. His goal is to share what he's learned through his unique and challenging journey to live with no regrets. Not only does Michael's art express what he experiences, both visually and emotionally, he shares the lessons he has learned through the eyes of one who has experienced a childlike sense of wonder twice in one life. Through it all, it is his strong connection to God that drives him and gives him hope and an unsinkable determination to keep moving forward.
