Rumbleart is a collection of contemporary artworks created by Simon Wilson.. I was born in Yorkshire, England in 1967 and studied at Bradford Art College. After leaving art college I began a 30 year creative career as a commercial graphic artist, working for design and advertising agencies. This successful experience lead me to run my own design company called Rumblefish, specialising in branding. The name ‘Rumble’ was my nickname in the industry so I have adopted it for my personal art project. I want to create art which looks and feels like it belongs to the ‘art world', but make it more accessible and affordable to anyone. I create everything on an iMac which is dedicated solely to my personal art project. All my work is created and classified as digital art and then printed as Giclee canvas prints. My art represents ‘No Rules’. This is born out of answering strict briefs in my day job as a designer. The artworks have to be free, fresh and entertaining, with no particular fixed style. It’s all about putting down a fresh thought with no restrictions. It is extremely important for me to have a creative outlet. With years working in a creative industry, this comes quite naturally to me. I think artists have a hugely valuable role in society. From recording history to political activism and everything in-between. It can educate, shock, calm and hold people’s attention. I have an in-built dream where I visualise my work being valued, whether it’s hanging in someone’s home or in a special gallery exhibition. So my dream project is what I already do and that’s for the viewers enjoyment. Everything I dream up is for other people to judge for themselves.
