Woven Flames is a vibrant geometric abstract expressionistic digital painting that trick the eye into seeing a series of interwoven flames in a grid pattern over a textured background.. The base image was created using a semi-randomly generated fractal. The fractal was rendered at 72" w x 40". The intent was for the piece to be displayed in a large public area or lobby. Once ported to Photoshop, multiple digital filters, texture overlays and a variety of digital painting techniques were applied. The end result being the image's extraordinary depth and movement. Upon purchase, this digital painting will be printed on an aluminum dibond panel with a special resin coating. The resin coating is unique in that the edges will be curved unlike traditional acrylic panes with square edges.

aGeekonaBike Photography™ is the pseudonym of Dale Mitchell. Dale is an avid bike tourer, professionally trained photographer and artist, who wanders around the world on a decade+ old Trek 540. Always carrying a camera on his bike, Dale is never afraid to ride off the beaten path or become temporarily lost to get that once in a life time photo. Dale has received both formal and informal training in urban photography, sculpture, painting, drawing, glass blowing and technical illustrations from such American artists as Dave Davis (photography), Paul Pletka (oils, lithography, watercolors), Michael Atkinson (watercolors) and Burgess Roye (pastels, acrylics). The pieces on available in this gallery are select samples of his ability to reimagine his photography skills into beautiful works of digital art. Many pieces originated as photos, some were taken around the world. Dale used past painting training to digitally “repaint” the photos using a variety of software.
