About The Artwork
I am inspired by everyday life, it colour and conversation, and by the natural, industrial and futuristic environments. I hope to engage the viewer with something simple yet intriguing. To open up dialogue between people. To create wonder. To provide a sense of calm and bring a sense a joy to the viewer. Having been traditionally trained I prefer to first sketch my concepts and decide on colorways then I digitize my ideas into reality. I am a digital artist - I use various computer software to create original contemporary pieces. This process provides me with a lot more options and I find it extremely exciting and a very modern way of working. The artworks I create speak to me, they tell me when they are complete. The real art is knowing when to stop. The artwork is a bright colourful environmental pop of colour. The shapes overlap and create colour variances and dimension similar to stained glass. Constantly requiring the eye to move between the shades of colour and figuring out the nuances of each overlapping shape. Encouraging a form of accidental meditation which is imposed on the viewer. I wanted a layering effect of bright colours overlapping each other - this piece is called 'landscape' xA

My art practice is wide and varied, incorporating digital image, video, photography, painting and object design. There are two sides to my portfolio. On the one hand I am fascinated by form, shape and I love the simplicity of flat block colour. I find inspiration in the natural environment and also through my dreams at night. It is extremely satisfying to bring these visions to life. My colourful pieces are relaxing, harmonious and enjoyable. I hope my work inspires conversation. The abstract nature of some of my works allow the observer to immediately engage in a two-way dialogue with the artwork. This creates a talking piece in the home, office or public environments without being too confrontational. While I also find beauty in the banal or ugly. I'm fascinated in things that are discarded. The everyday object, a dumpster filled with pre-loved junk. Or the mechanical monotony of an escalator that moves people day and night without question. These items and everyday occurrences are often boring and overlooked but they draw me in closer in order to observe a social scene or an automated environment in more detail. I want to encourage society to ponder their existence through waste and discarded objects. To ask themselves questions and to think about their actions.
