About The Artwork

This I did ages ago - maybe 2000? it's the 12 days of Xmas but I got it a bit wrong. It was a Christmas card. Have the original somewhere (A3 or A2?). It was before I had access to a computer so it was done with ink drawing, then printed to acetate, then paint on the back, then back to the printers. Yawn - so much easier now - but less FUN? Anyway: 1st Day - Partridge (my dog Blobby) in a pear tree 2nd Day: - Two (Turtle) Doves - bit naughty - 'doves' are a name for ecstasy - hence 2 'pills' on the tongue. 3rd Day: 3 French Hens (geddit?) - OEUF! 4th Day: Four Calling Birds (4 girls ringing their boyfriend Elvis) 5th Day: Five GOLD rings - updated for modern piercings 6th Day: Six Geese a Laying 7th Day: Seven Swans a Swimming (as in Swan Vestas - a type of match - swimming on top of a cup of tea). 8th Day: Eight Maids a milking (well 8 babies breast feeding) 9th Day: (should be 9 Ladies Dancing - that's No 11) - ( drummers drumming - gold ring lady playing 9 drums - the Happy Xmas bit! 10th Day: (should be ten lords a leaping) - Ten pipers piping - one bloke puffing away on various smoking apparatus. 11th Day: (should be pipers piping) - Eleven ladies dancing - well one lady with 11 handbags - dancing. 12th Day (should be drummers drumming) - Twelve Lords a leaping - parachuting out of an aeroplane. There you go.

A chum 'borrowed me' to practice his photography - so here are some images. ........ A hobby became - rather surprisingly another occupation, after I went part-time from my consultant psychiatrist job and devoted more time to THIS . As I worked in a 'proper job' 2 days a week my ability to do exhibitions is limited, but have stuff up locally around Cheltenham in bars and offices. Mainly self-taught, but I go to classes at the excellent and very jolly Cheltenham Fine Art (CFA) School (recommended). No nonsense artist - paints etc because fun and people like my stuff. Hate 'esoteric/enigmatic' types. Anyone can shoot me if I ever say 'my art challenges perceptions' etc. Work from home studio 'Helios House' (silly but I like it name). Have painting on 4 continents, so feel slightly international. Sell via this website and word of mouth, but like many have to eat baked beans and do odd jobs to supplement income. Just thought I'd put stuff on this sight to see if I can eat less of the beans! Comments and requests always welcome (as long as constructive criticism!). Toodle Pip!
