About The Artwork

Visiting the finer area's of London is a wonderful thing, until you actually have to deliver goods! Goods that are in demand by others, who are not to pleased if they cannot find it on the shelves when they need to buy them! However, trying to supply the demand, and get the cargo to the right place, at the right time. Is a whole other reality. As it could sometimes be to the anger, and though not intended the expense, and displeasure of others, unfortunately! This is a depiction of one of those days for me! . Sometimes you can only do as far as you can see. Be that right, or wrong in that given moment. At the time though in the way, coming under some serious scrutiny it was all I could do, to get out the way again quickly was to stay put, and get the job done, finish the delivery. It was all about decisions which in some cases, it can feel, and appear impossible to be able to ever make the right decision, without upsetting someone. However, what is portrayed within the painting, is not necessarily a true representation of the incident, or persons involved nor is any of it to be considered factual. That applies to each scene of this entire collection Sometimes delivering to less accessible areas in the heart of London can mean circling the block several times before you can even near to the location you need to park in, by which time you are loosing you time, which may mean it takes even longer to do a delivery. Sorry, but woe betide you if unfortunately you get stuck behind someone who found a place which will make a delivery easier for them! Especially when it comes to the excessively heavy goods! Therefore, once on spot. To move again tends not to be an option! It was an awful day that I had not know idea would go as wrong looking back on it! Though with good reason. Liquid on a palette, over a cobbled area is no easy, or painless feat! I moved on as a lot else went wrong! It was at these times trying to pick up experience to get on, that I was to realised that I was completely unaware, and unskilled in the art of being able to negotiate more for myself, financially. To be honest I don't even think I was aware I had the option! Which probably meant I may not have been paid equally! In the realm of hatred unbeknown to me, in moving on financially, from one extreme to the other. I would be moving toward a campaign of an anonymous someone who seemed to have a plan, or had planned a calculative campaign, and was ready to work hard at keeping up set of circumstances justified, or not. Which would be against me being able to make any improvements in my life, and the life of my own child through my career, or job, financially. This is not something I wanted to feel, or year later go on about. But was eventually forced to become aware, and feel the burden of. I was not, and am not perfect at anything. Right, or wrong when things did not work out, I moved on. But when as a result something steps over into the inner most private part of your life, and that begins, or restarts a keeping up of a level of deliberate at times, constant noise nuisance, the grooming, and terrifying of others into submission to the grooming, and an investigative form of surveillance harassment. Which eventually has nothing to do with the actual law. That is a whole different something! I have generally preferred to work as temporary agency staff. Generally, people do what they say they are going to do, get you the work they have on offer, and pay what they say they are going to pay you. even without a need to put in writing because they are just good hones folk. But, every once in while there is a glitch, and that does not always follow. Getting things in writing is key. Never a truer word spoken. Unfortunately, at times easier said than done, and can be a horrible thing to have to feel to enforce. Especially when there appears to be no reason to mistrust anyone, and you have been able to trust such a situation before! In such instances when you end up with less than was originally advertised, or offered it is not always necessarily down to gender discrimination, or race or any other work place politics! Known as one of the last bastions of Chauvinistic domination, is the way I think some people refer to, or used to refer to the haulage industry. It amazed me that in my own journey in which I was inspired by, and actually able to get into the industry on the tail of other women who paved the way before me, by doing what they do. Which made it possible for me to follow through, thankfully! It is amazing that what is built up as a barrier to progress by one person, can be torn down by another! The depiction here references not only a crowded shopping area, but a defiant response on my part, and being threatened with being reported to the authorities, from those affected by being blocked in. Which believe it, or not was not deliberate act on my part but a necessary one to get the job done! It was a day I had obviously always remembered especially when faced with a campaign of anonymous hatred which became clear to me to mention again, eventually was definitely something that was intended to punish me, financially! I chose the subject matter because even though as an individual, I am responsible for my own life, actions, and progress in life. Something, I take great pleasure, pride, love, and gratitude in harnessing, it does not immune me from the ill will, and intent and focus of others who have more cruel intentions. The scene is portrayed as a ‘split scenes’ and are basically only an impression of a flashback! Furthermore, what is portrayed within the painting, is not necessarily a true representation of any incident, or person nor is any of it to be considered factual. That applies to the entire collection!

Born in London. From kitchen table top, to connecting to the market place creating a hub of creativity. I have had the opportunity and privilege to live and experience many different area's in England and addresses in and around London, living in different social conditions, with a different set of challenges and joy's at each location. These experiences continue to be the biggest influence and inspiration for my work to date, inspiring imaginative impressions, which translate into expressions of fictional characters, and decorative designs. Whilst I did attend formal schooling, I did manage to achieve leaving secondary schooling without qualifications. Later gaining qualifications by investing in vocational training. I initially took up sketching to help me with clothes design, attending a local community college, it was a cheaper option as a young parent at the time. I come from a background of naturally creative people, where things like clothes were made without patterns, or any prior preparation for design. It was a time of instinctive survival, with a jump in and get it done way of living and thinking, learn on the go type of attitude toward life. Writing poetry plays the role of being my first point of creativity, it is a combination of free flow journal writing, "free flow" is a method of unblocking personal expression. Examples of this is the pen sketch and textile remnant journals, where poetry, meaningful sayings, and short messages meet. Expressing myself through writing journals, poetry, and even finding a way of writing threw creating an image, led me to explore painting as a further means of deeper self expression, exploration and release. What emerged is a spontaneous method of painting, composition admittedly is not a study in every piece initially, but emerges in the form of allowing a subject to develop in a space, in whatever form or position it takes. Coming from the era where Art was not seen as a proper job, taking that notion on - for a long time. I struggled to come terms with art as anything other than frivolity, despite being a creative. To understand my work further; The experience behind the creative process. Throughout my life as a child to present day I have been effected by the collection of behaviours known as Stalking. As a child and teen I witnessed others experiences.
