ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This painting is part of a series of time studies. When you have a practice to be present and be still while observing, Every color transition becomes a color coded experience that you ca differentiate from an almost identical one. Because the more you observe the more you see. Art is a collaboration and a relationship between you, the source of inspiration and the piece. We don’t own ideas. Ideas are free energy that uses us to materialize, but in reality there is no way for us to own them. My work is about appreciation of daily beauty found in virtually anything and about elevating my own understanding of said source of inspiration. For me is almost like building a spiritual relationship with that subject, place or experience that allows me to access a deeper meaning of life itself. In this case, I have spent every first day of every month painting the desert sky and its marvelous color transitions, depicting a color coded sky fingerprint.

Most people approach art as a tool for personal expression, so the artist can share their perspective, vision or opinion about any given subject. I believe, art is not an outlet for us artists to “create” an opinion. Instead I think about it as a way of understanding what’s around us and making sense of it. Just like musicians make up melodies and lyrics that relate to their experiences to generate a deeper understanding of how they are processing that experience, or like dogs understand their surroundings through smell, I believe the artist understands the world by observing, feeling, and by perpetuating that feeling through painting or drawing or other technique. It is a very intimate and personal process that allows us artists to get to know ourselves so much better.
