ABOUT THE ARTWORK

These sprint shoes tell the story of three Olympic 100 m champions: Usain Bolt (Beijing 2008, London 2012, Rio 2016), Linford Christie (Barcelona 1992) and Armin Hary (Rome 1960). Original winning shoes photographed and painted by Jens Enneper. Traces of sport Shoes make people. They are functional or fashionable, in the best case both, and some can bear witness to historical events and personalities. This also and especially applies to sport. Only in rare cases are records and medals won barefoot. Cologne-based artist Jens Enneper sees shoes as inspiration and motif. His works of art are interpretations that set our thoughts in motion and evoke memories of outstanding sportsmen and sportswomen. ARTletics 2.0 - Traces of Sport shows shoes from international sporting greats from various disciplines. They tell of strong personalities and historic sporting moments that have remained in our collective memory.
