3LC CP04 3 Blues (study) 2004 Colour pencil on Acrylic primed Paper Available to purchase from the archive. For shipping purposes this work is framed with Perspex to avoid damage of artwork during transit. A series of studies were commissioned for "Remote Control" a group show curated by Deborah Dean, Angel Row Gallery, Nottingham. "Remote Control brings together artists who are making work in ways that re-consider what drawing can be." The 3LC CP04 3 Blues study is one of few remaining studies that went on to be transcribed in to 9 CP04 drawings that were exhibited. Each meticulous fine, hairline drawing was constructed with coloured leads and compass, following alternate arcs of crisp, near perfect linear structures, removing all sense of presence or gesture but retaining tentative beauty. "Remote Control" Angel Row Gallery, Nottingham 2004 Artists: Balint Bolygo, Roy Brown, Robert Curie, Sarah Doyle, Gillian Dyson, Simon Faithfull, Lesley Halliwell, Kaie Holten, Marek Tobolewski. Published Catalogue 600 copies, Edition & numbered.

English b.1964 Lives & works in Nottingham UK. Resident artist at PRIMARY Nottingham ... Recipient of the Pollock-Krasner Foundation Award. "... Marek Tobolewski'’s work continues to entrance and mystify... CiS is the most impressive show of Tobolewski’s I have ever seen ... his artistic practice seems to be a never-ceasing journey along a single path, continually striving for new insights and perfections." Andrew Cooper-NVA Ed Drawing underpins my practice, it deals within both the formal process of abstraction today and its historical continuity. The ongoing Continuum series of works are concerned with spatial portals held within symmetry and reflection, of rotated and mirrored linear forms. The linear ’Syms’ are continually evolving and endlessly being reinvented … “I return to existing works, adjust structures and refine each individual flow of a line in an attempt to hold a balance between movement and stillness.”
