About The Artwork
80th Street at Riverside (acrylic on canvas 11"x14") is another in the series of paintings I am working on, which are based on urban architectural and landscape forms rendered in abstract geometric shapes, which create a feeling instead of replicating reality. Gel medium is applied to the canvas first to create texture, while the overlapping translucent colors used, reveal a visual record of the creative process for each painting. There is no need for a frame as the painting travels around all the edges and the canvas is stapled in the back of the stretcher bars.
