Art Description

Painting: Oil on Canvas.

As part of a series of trees, .9 is the smallest, and most recent. I am only painting a tree now.
Each of these paintings is created over a period of months or longer. The rhythm is steady, if slow; right now, I only want to paint a tree. I'm finally here.
The title of the painting gives its place in the chain of finished paintings. The work is independent. Within a group. Sometimes I work out how a tree will inhabit the painting, sometimes less so.
I want the paint to dry, to remove layers, to create new openings and build again. The tree comes from somewhere, and I trust it. This is my art.
