This piece is about BerriBlue's difficult relationship with her family. The symbolism in the work is very personal to her. At the age of 13, Berri left Poland for Dublin. This move meant that she was totally cut off from her family and her roots in Gdansk.

The relationship she has with her immediate family is very strained, and casts her childhood in a painful light. The blueberries have been uprooted and lie scattered, and a bulbous, cancerous growth has been cut away, lying discarded. The only living thing is the Iris, now sprouting new roots and creating its own optimistic future, isolated from the rest.
