A Line in Time #4 Painting

My work is very simple at first glance. Some viewers find it too simple. But, for me, the process is usually one of reduction. I start by making many 'free form' lines and marks... and then, over time, the painting emerges. It finds its own balance. I am actually very happy when the work has been reduced to something very simple and in harmony. You could say the lines that make it to the final work are "just enough but nothing more". I paint in series and tend to exhibit my work in series. I tend to recommend to buyers to consider collecting the work in pairs or groups, and I am open to doing discounts if more than one painting in a series is sold together.
