ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Series of the collection A New Shape Year 2019 3D Canvas 50x50x10 Alluminium/Iron Frame, Thermofused Plexiglass, Ink, Acrilic The projection on plexiglass during the site-specific installation at Micro Museum of Monza in 2018, inspired the artist to create a new generation of plastic works talking about pollution through jellyfish. This complex artwork is made of plexiglass foils and combines a thermic fusion process with ink and acrylic to create a multi-layer canvas. The final combination of all layers has a 3D effect that gives these dynamic and fluid movements of the subject.

Alessio Ceruti was born in Varese, Italy, in 1980. He is a self-taught and full-time artist whose artistic training began in his father's business in 1994, where he worked on the finishing of sculptures for many famous artists such as Michelangelo Pistoletto, Not Vital, and Remo Salvadori. These artistic influences increased his desire to communicate using his own language, focusing on the study and use of metals, recycled materials, and painting. With studios in Milan and Bali, he has had the privilege of collaborating and exhibiting with artists worldwide. His art has been featured in numerous group and solo exhibitions spanning Europe, Southeast Asia, and the USA. His artistic process is unique and involves a blend of multimedia techniques using different materials. In his work, he delves into the intricate relationship between humanity and nature, both conceptually and abstractly. In addition to his artistic pursuits, he is a free diver and scuba diver. Back in Bali, he is studying and working on a Coral Gardening Program and conducting experiments on shells. He is also researching new recycling materials using Styrofoam.
