ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This painting on gallery-wrapped canvas (meaning that the canvas is painted on the sides and wraps around to the back, not needing a frame, unless desired) was inspired by my first trip to Carrara, Italy. I am a sculptor and was enthralled by the sculptors' studios in this town famous for its marble quarries. Here you see a copy of a statue of a young woman holding a vase and looking down. It is being carved in marble and the tools of the sculptor surround the figure. She is beautiful. SOLD, private collection in Indianapolis.
