About The Artwork

Pilot logbook #WDCPS2021 (A woman drinks coffee with her parents on Sunday) René serrano creates works which highlight those wonders of daily life that go unnoticed; the moments that shape our trajectories but are so minute, they are often times overlooked. The “TIME” as a muse; Serrano identify the traces and calligraphy as layers in life and in the painting. His works revolve around ideas about banal events, and he views daily life as an altar for meditation and fascination. This fascination translates to pure logical forms like a circle or a square and recently portraits as backdrops or layers to his calligraphy forms. Maybe a kind of Glossolalia. As the music composer Wim Mertens said: “A language in the instruments that will not distinguish between the content, the meaning, the words, and sounds”. In his paintings René writes with a Self-created calligraphy over textures, over forms, over circles, over Vinyl records and talk us about the circles in life. Work in layers means the differents experiences in our lifetime... The harmonious compositions are a tribute to the passage of time in a person’s life, a life that is shaped by interactions, occurrences, and encounters that color our realities and affects our decision making.

Psychographic artist with Hypergraphia My research is about a passage of time in a person’s life that is often shaped by challenges, interactions and encounters. I explore the relationship between graffiti roots and fine art academy to represent the music as a measure of time. The incorporation of my psychographic calligraphy describes secret poems in every canvas.
