About The Artwork
This oil painting is a memorial for all the women in war zones who suffer loss and shame. I created it during the Yazd homicide by the Isis troupes. In time of peace we create beautiful things such as ornaments and architecture that can be destroyed by the ignorance of zealots. As an artist I live in beauty and cherish culture. As a woman i suffer with my sisters around the world the loss of dignity. The model for this painting is my daughter who is a dancer and her being an artist is part of this installation painted on canvas.
