A soft seduction, A strong attraction Painting

This painting was part of an exhibition entitled "A Soft Seduction, A Strong Attraction," held in Tehran in 2013. The main theme was a surreal narrative about the final perceptions of a man or woman being absorbed into a giant meat grinder that suddenly appeared in the sky above the city, consuming everything in its path. In fact, the giant meat grinder was a metaphor for my fears: fears of war, insecurity, collapse, and more. The exhibition commenced with the following sentences: "Everything is ordinary… suddenly something from the category of household appliances, a giant meat grinder, appears upon the city, suspended between earth and sky: I spontaneously stand up, fascinated … Infatuated with the warmth of this “meta-object ”‘s presence. I go exactly where I need to be … It seductively attracts me toward itself, closer and closer… The soft seduction, the strong attraction … somewhere downtown."
