Hi! I'm Jeanine Madaule. I live and paint in Villalier, a small village in the southwest of France, near Carcassonne. I have had a passion for painting all my life. Autodidact, something inside of me just clicked in 1985. I needed to release my emotions, and I naturally turned to painting. Painting takes me like a fever. I like to paint standing up, in the silence of my atelier. Painting is like a symphony; I feel the music of the canvas when it is almost finished. The hours pass without me noticing. Inspiration always comes quickly. Of course, as an impressionist painter the admiration of nature has always played a major role in my art. I love to paint the magical landscapes and the light that make the Carcassonne region so beautiful. I also like to paint portraits. I don't draw on the canvas, I paint directly, allowing myself to let go of everything, spontaneity of the gesture and the interpretation take a dominant place. Oil painting is my ideal expression. I am guided by the brush: it does everything. Thank you for your interest!
