Art Description

Painting: Watercolor on Paper, Canvas.

I have always been fascinated by abandoned buildings, ruins, places built for a particular purpose which is no longer needed. The sense of history, stories, suffering, work, oppression, as well as hope, abundance and creativity are evident in every brick, stone, and board of these places.
I grew up with a father who owned a factory, and I felt like it was an ugly, mysterious, foreign way for people to live and work, and yet I knew this one factory intimately. Many years later we turned said factory into an artist studio complex. I also wanted to be an architect, and am interested in the look and feel of spaces designed by humans.
I have been a watercolorist and photographer for over 30 years and this is a theme i continually return to.
