ABOUT THE ARTWORK
"Above Vinci" is a memory from my last Tuscan Vacation. The olive trees were glowing in the sun. This work is done with acrylic colours on canvas. The sides of the canvas are painted white. I added a hanger on the back so the artwork is ready to hang. To protect the painting against UV-rays and dust I sealed it with a mat varnish. I signed the artwork on the front. The size of the work is 100 x 120 x 1.5 cm / 39.4 x 47.24 x 0.6 in.

ARTIST STATEMENT: Life is a largely subjective experience; but that subjective experience is my bridge to the objective world. And it’s this synthesis of the two that I am trying to capture. INSPIRATION AND PROCESS: I love experimenting and want to give my works an individual expression. I have two lines of work: I love painting almost (but not quite) realistic, somewhat utopian, nature images and on the other hand I really enjoy doing non-objective/abstract art. I am inspired by the beauty and power of natural phenomena, the mystery of nature, its colors and forms. Every painting is a one-of-a-kind work in which I try to combine feeling and thought. I work most of the time with acrylics but I also mix acrylics with other media such as oil pastel, soft pastel, spray paint, graphite and charcoal or ink. All materials I use, if canvas, paper or paints are of artist quality.
