Abstract Conversations Three I Painting

This work is made by first cover the paper with acrylic wash in a saturated color. I then work with charcoal line, oil paint and oil bars to create the lines and form. As I work I layer, scrape off, re instate until I consider it finished.. This way of working directly on paper allows me to work spontaneously and quickly, the continually worked surface builds up a rich surface quality to the work. My original inspiration for this series came from drawings made of bags describing an interior/exterior space and liner quality resulting from the folds of soft forms. The painting is on paper and is sold unframed, it can be float mounted in a gallery style frame, preferably white. Alternatively it can be attached to canvas and then stretched over a frame as an oil on canvas painting.
