Across The Bay Painting

Shropshire artist. Born in Hampshire and married in an underground cavern in Cornwall. I am truly excited by my recent dive into abstract art and can guarantee that each piece is infused with my energy. SAS Abstracts (Small Affordable and Square )can inject colour and curiosity into smaller interior designed spaces. My larger fine art centre pieces always evolve organically incorporating the sound of music. The tempo, dynamics, texture and timbre of music resonates an artistic response. These works are in acrylics or oils and I use both brush and palette knife on canvas measuring just under a metre. My artworks and commissions, until recently, have been centred around landscapes, nature, and portraits, In oils or pastels. I often feel that a subject matter dictates the medium I should use. My creative process is driven by my intense curiosity and passion for life. I love the natural world, but also the historical aspect of a place. Man’s interaction with his environment enthrals me both archaeologically and architecturally. Attracted to strong contrasts and patterns that appear unfamiliar or out of context. Observing changing light or reflections, often in micro environments. and catching that moment is the starting point of an idea. I intend to keep on exploring - both the world and my ability to develop and express in response to new challenges ahead. Why not come along and join me in my journey .
