The Berlin-Kreuzberg artist Marilyn Monroe- Manson was born on a Saint Patricks Day, in the same year as Punkrock. Her artwork is influenced by her amazing live as a background singer of the Kreuzberg Diamond Pop band "Sisterbutterfly" www.myspace.com/sisterbutterfly as well as by Punkrock and by Pop Art. She is painting in a very colourful, realistic way which should not lead the focus away from the seriousness of her topics. Her work is influencend not only by the work, but also by the ideas, the socio- critical statements, the music, the written works, the movies or even the braveness of being different, from personalities like Andy Warhol, Ed Kienholz, Francis Bacon, Jean- Michelle Bascquiat, Klaus Kinski, Arthur Rimbaud, Johnny Rotten, Jesse Ventura- to mention only a few of them. Actual political and controversial topics are getting more and more into the focus of 3M´s work. Since a short time she found artistic living- room in a Neukoelln studio- community. www.marilynmonroemanson.artists.de
