I am fascinated by faces. I am looking for new ways to express the character of a person in portraiture in a new way. The old “language of the flowers”, a series of copper stitches gave me the inspiration. It is said that apple blossoms are the beginning of spring and and a lily of the valley is a symbol for “the luck will return”. Shipped with the signed CERTIFICATION of AUTHENTICITY Material: Cotton on canvas painted with acrylics, hand and machine embroidered ( embroidery runs over the frame edges). On stretchers without frame, ready for hanging, 2 parts

The majority of Brigitte’s award-winning work draws on the study of people and structure. She focuses her attention on paintings and drawings which are characterized by exploring the human faces or bodies’ gestures, emotions and psychology, inviting the viewer to look inward for meaning. Her recent work is focused on textile as an artistic medium. She combines hand and free motion machine embroidery with painting, drawing and collage inspired by drawing techniques as copper stich.
