About The Artwork
This is a work of appropriation. Taking the technique of an old lost form of painting of the "Nueva Granada" art school in the place (Colombia) where I was born, I recreate a popular childhood idol that I always thought was mine, until told the opposite. By appropriating the Image that was very mine at my youth, and a technique that belonged to my birth place but I really never knew, as it was rejected by the new art movements at that time, I ask the question: what is our real identity in these times of cultural overlaping?
