ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Painted with acrylic paint on pvc canvas for strength and durability. Inspired by American imprint on world culture in 20th century. In high art Jasper Johns was prophet of the flag and in popular genres image was fused with Rock'n'Roll, film and fashion. Geometric cascade of red stripes is painted smeared, stained and dripping, reminding of a price payed for periods of peace and prosperity. It hangs as a scroll as now. It can also be stretched on stretcher frame by the owner if desired, there's plenty of canvas around the painting for that purpose.
