Anchor is inspired by a real old anchor stone, as fishermen used them in The Netherlands for fishing nets. The paiting refers to a longing to be kept still, to a place, to a person, to a belief, while everything and me changs inevitabily.

After graduating as a human rights lawyer, I set foot on a winding path in the arts. Sculpture, painting and curating site specific exhibitions have my enthusiasm, but since the last decade I focus more on environmental/site-specific art. A central theme in my artwork is the human relationship with nature. I live in an urban, digital, global world and I research possible ways to engage in nature. By using natural materials I seduce myself and others to get closer to, or even ‘enter’ nature.
