Art Description

Painting: Acrylic, Oil on Canvas.

'Ancient Keanae Peninsula' is an acrylic and oil on canvas measuring 36"x96". The painting is my interpretation of the peninsula viewed from the famous road to Hana, Maui as I imagine it may have looked in the middle stages of the island's formation, long before the arrival of the first Polynesians to the Maui shores. The painting was originally painted especially for the 'Witness to Time' invitational exhibition along with the work of ten other contemporary artists to honor Edward Bailey and the Bailey House Museum at the Schaefer International Gallery.
