This one is for Mendelssohn Piano Trio no.1 Andante con moto tranquillo. Landscapes painted by Yihsin Chu feature the idea of impermanence in Chinese philosophy. Directed strokes and heavy paints are the mental projection from the painter which represents the motion of flow, and resonates with the impermanence.

I'm a Taiwanese artist, currently studying in MA Fine Art at University of Arts London (UAL). Born in 1991 Taipei Taiwan, experiencing a great abundance of different cultures, I collected those clashes and fusions that I’ve been through and turned them into painting practice. My work features the dynamic movement of landscapes with heavy clouds, mist or hovering smoke, these phenomenon of weather speaks the temporality and impermanence in Chinese philosophy which has profound influence one me. Layers and strokes of colors play a role as a witness.
