About The Artwork

Ivan Mijatovic knows how to unite colors that you think yourself in another world. Born in 1966 in Zenica (Bosnia and Herzegovina), where he attended art school. He came to the Netherlands in 1994 where he now enjoys a lot of appreciation and recognition. Art historian Wietske Jansen Schoonhoven wrote about Ivan Mijatovic: The colorful paintings by Ivan Mijatovic have little relationship to the figurative world. Ivan makes abstract art with nature as inspiration. With a large brush palette knife he builds his paintings layer by layer with acrylics. After that he modified parts with sand and templates, building a spiritual world where everything seems possible.
