ABOUT THE ARTWORK
What happens when our anger breaks free and we allow ourselves to express it? I have often stopped expressing this emotion due to the quiet and friendly persona others have adopted of me. By my own creation I have crafted a reflection of me that is approachable and friendly but that not all that I am. I am angry, I am pissed off, and I can be aggressive. I painted ‘Anger can be Beauty’ as an experiment. I hypothesized, If I created an Angry guardian angel and used his spirit to strengthen me then I would be capable of expressing anger without regret or shame. The being depicted in this piece is a reminder that anger can be and sometimes is the only -- appropriate response. The abstract and shimmering paint marks add class, glamor, and freedom to the visual. These marks tell the viewer anger can be beautiful.
