About The Artwork

Aniline Art on Vellum Lady Mary https://www.saatchiart.com/artgian https://www.todocoleccion.net/s/catalogo-antiguedades-arte-coleccionismo-subastas?idvendedor=gianarlekin https://www.virtualgallery.com/galleries/gian_a54473087 https://fineartamerica.com/profiles/gianpiero-maryspinosi/shop https://arlecuan.deviantart.com/ https://www.instagram.com/art_gian_piero_mary_spinosi/?hl=en https://www.facebook.com/artgianpieromaryspinosi/ When we often think about the role played by the female figure within the world of art, this remains in some aspects as: muses, models ... The muse is a figure as it has not been revealed to any other people. She is the goddess of Truth in the highest sense. The rhapsas and poets, those who speak the truth, called themselves their servants, their henchmen or "prophets", and dedicated their pious and ritual veneration. They were fully aware of not being able to claim for themselves what we so magnificently call creative force, but they considered themselves only listeners, while the goddess herself is the one who sings. In Greek mythology, the muses were, according to the most ancient writers, the inspiring divinities of music and art, which presided over the different types of poetry. Each of them was related to artistic and knowledge branches. In the most archaic era were the inspiring nymphs of the fountains, in which they were worshiped. In a further development they became inspiring and protective of all forms of art and came to preside over every manifestation of intelligence. The woman in Romanticism The image or representation of women in romantic painting is carried out under the ideologies of this movement, where they want to integrate: desire, poetry, body, intuition, love and death in an "everything" artistic. Although the above depends a lot on the artist and his vision of the feminine perception or of the woman, it can be said that there are many archetypes that are repeated and that have managed to build an image of the woman of Romanticism. In general terms, we could classify the romantic authors as authors of the human world and with them the "pleasures" of man, which takes force in this current, however, they themselves use social freedom in a prudent manner, particularly in the archetype of women, where a battle takes place between the idealized woman, representing pure love and the sensual nature of beauty and submissive to man; with the bourgeois woman, "cortes" and head of the family. On the other hand, a stereotype or archetype of the mystical woman is also created, where the ideologies of terror and passion are united; with this many artists who belong to Romanticism use spiritualism, dreams, which usually means an impossible love, misunderstood and that the world would never understand. The woman in Modernism Although it is an artistic movement with pragmatic functions, the influences of Symbolism are present in paintings, and often through women. The muse of Modernism was the sensual woman, like the Parisian courtesans, sophisticated and represented with a dramatic sensuality. In this sense, women were seen as the axis of life representing the fertility and reproduction that was necessary for evolution, and also sex from Freudian theories was perceived as fundamental in individualism. The woman in this current was represented in a fragile and exotic way, but according to the artists she represented something demonic, like a contradictory vision of what was presented, that through the ornaments could be made visible. You can see how the artists coupled the techniques to create a new image of women, that was not realistic or human: "Being of transformation and metamorphosis, therefore always reflected with extreme fantasy and associated with supernatural passion." The above, in terms of symbolism is related to the passional ideals and the fantastic and oneiric vision of Romanticism, however, in aesthetics they differ a lot, besides that in this current oriental cultures are incorporated, medieval mythology and the human image is mixed, more than with mysticism as in the first movement, with the imaginative and fantastic, in addition to the animal. This mixture is related to the oriental principles of yin and yang, in such a way "the woman is part of magnificent compositions and symbiosis. The above is a perfect example of how art and painting serve to analyze societies, through which one can see the ideologies of an era and of artists, their context and countries without having to go into an extensive sociological study , this investigation is a clear example of this. Through the different currents you can see how the image of the woman becomes less cliché or stereotyped, although you will always see the link between women and sexuality, which can be interpreted as an objectification of your image and body . So this work could invite more studies on the role of women in art as creators and inspirers of it.
