I feel inspired by the rural countryside area where my studio is. During the colder months of the year, I feel more inclined to organise my painting sessions around smaller format canvases. It is quiet and I concentrate on applying the oils onto the canvas. Creating these small BOTANICAL STUDIES provide me with so much joy and I hope you can experience the beauty of the natural world through them. The triptych APPLE TREE plays between abstraction and figurative letting your own sensibility and imagination to get lost in the work. My purpose is to bring a fine art and unique piece of work to you that is colourful and vibrant, that makes you smile even. With this OIL PAINTING ON CANVAS, I have been experimenting and letting myself to be guided by the brushes, the oil, and pigments. The creative process has been deeply enjoyable, and I hope it shows in the end results. You can see textured marks on the canvas that suggest something organic and fluidity. Layers of oils with coloured pigments are integral to my imagery and process. This painting comes with a certificate of authenticity. Photographs of the painting with a frame are for display purpose only. The painting is being sold and shipped unframed. However, framing is available upon request at an additional cost. Oil painting on canvas, stretched on a 3.5cm deep wooden frame. Signed on the front. Each painting continues around the sides and is finished with UV resistant varnish. It is shipped wired and ready for hanging.

Beatriz Vazquez is a Spain-based painter who draws on colour psychology and her environment in Asturias (Spain Northern rural area) for an ever-evolving source of inspiration in her abstract landscape paintings. Beatriz was classically trained and obtained her Fine Arts degree from her hometown Seville, in South Spain. Creativity has been present in her daily life since a young age, always interested in drawing and looking at images on art books. Her paintings speak to whimsical notions of abstraction, as well as the colour palette of realist painters, such as Antonio Lopez Garcia. However, the artist employs delicate, muted tones and mark making, and layers of oil and acrylic that reveal traces of memory that pose sensitive reflections on the world, void of ego. Often working large-scale canvases with acrylic and oil paint, Beatriz utilises her research in colour psychology to give the works a sensory effect — the harmonious tones of the environment connect her audience to the landscape she creates within. Texture is built through gestural mark-making to imprint the canvas, indicative of the time and thought that she pours out on each one of her pieces. She has been finalist in several contemporary painting awards, exhibits regularly and sells her work to a both national and international clientele. Written by Susan Dorothea Hargrave
