Aquadango, Limited Edition print 5 of 50 Painting

Finalist in the 2020 David Shepherd Wildlife Artist of the Year, Highly commended in The Wildlife Art Society International 2016 exhibition, I started painting in 2013. Originally a water colourist, I converted to acrylics in 2017. My paintings are composed from photographs I take during walks in the countryside around our house, and also at a local nature reserve where I volunteer. Thus, my subject matter tends to be what are regarded as British birds. My style can best be described as glacial, taking up to two hours to paint an area the size of a postage stamp. As such my output is some two to four paintings a year. I paint what I see. Any resemblance to photorealism is purely accidental. I donate 10% of my sales to the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds i.e. RSPB. Saving nature for our children.
