South Asian Artist Mueen Saheed is an award winning Abstract Expressionist and Jewellery designer, known for his bold use of colour and evocative forms. He is known both in his native Sri Lanka and internationally, and his work has found ardent collectors of art globally, including the Sultan of Brunei, the Malaysian Prime Mister and a piece for Investor Vincent Tans daughter Chryseis Tan. Mueens art is influenced by a number of factors, including his Sri Lankan heritage, a past life in crafting jewellery, History, Mysticism, Rythm and personal philosophies of his portrait subjects. Mueen began by painting life stories of world leaders, hidden behind abstract strokes, before moving onto painting Sri Lankan history on door panels and windows, most notably in UNESCO World Heritage city; Galle. Most of his work are heavily dependant on bold colours and brush strokes embeud with energy, rythm and hidden character portraits, and can be considered work of abstract narrative expressionism. Both highly vernacular to the Sri Lankan tounge and yet coherent with the global movements of artistic abstraction.
